I. ABOUT DARMASISWA PROGRAM
DARMASISWA is a scholarship program offered to all foreign students from countries with which Indonesia has friendly relations.
The scholarship opens opportunities for foreign students to study Indonesian language, arts, music and crafts. Participants can
choose to study at any universities and colleges participating in the program.
The main purpose of the Darmasiswa program is to establish better understanding and cultivate stronger cultural links between
Indonesia and its friendly nations. The DARMASISWA program is essentially a "non-degree" program undertaken within or less
than a year. The participants are prohibited from engaging in any political and/or business activities which may result in the
destabilizing of government programs or lead to personal profit/gain.
The Darmasiswa RI Program offered with 3 schemes :
• Darmasiswa Regular Program – 1 year
• Darmasiswa Plus Program – 1 year
• Darmasiswa Short Course Program – 6 months
1. DARMASISWA REGULAR PROGRAM
The Reguler Darmasiswa Program is a one-year scholarship program offered to all foreign students to study the
Indonesian language, arts, music and crafts at designated universities and colleges participating in the program.
Rights & Obligations
• Free tuition fee
• Living Cost Allowance of Rp 1.000.000,00 (one milion rupiah).
Clothing Allowance of Rp 300.000,00 (three hundred thousands rupiah). Once payment only.
• Willing to assist the university of their choice or the university’s closest learning institutions with the teaching of a
foreign language or other academic activities for more or less 5 (five) hours per week.
• Participants shall find their own means of accommodation with the assistance of the Universities from which the
students will study.
• The organizers shall arrange transportation from the airport to the place of study.
• Participants are required to sign an agreement before their departure to Indonesia.
• Participants are required to sign an agreement with the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia
after their arrival in Indonesia
Schedule
• Application deadline End of March 2008.
• Selection of documents: Middle of April.
• Selection of applicants Early April 2008.
• Notification of selected applicants. Early May 2008
• Confirmation from participants. Early June 2008
• Orientation and Indonesian Language Course 4th Week of August.
• Arrival of participants in Indonesia End of August 2008.
• Orientation program Early September 2008.
• Academic calendar programs September 2008 – July 2009

2. DARMASISWA SHORT-COURSE PROGRAM
The Darmasiswa Short Course Program is a 6 month scholarship program offered to all foreign students, to study the
Indonesian language at designated universities and colleges participating in the program. Participants are not allowed to
conduct research in Indonesia.

VISA ARRANGEMENT
Nominated Darmasiswa participant should apply Indonesian visa at Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw. Upon arrival in Indonesia,
the visa will be converted to a one year stay permit. The participants shall have passport with validity at least 18 months prior to
the date of entry.
AIR-FARE TICKET
The Government of Republic of Indonesia does not provide airfare tickets.
HEALTH INSURANCE
Nominated participants should have international health insurance.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANTS
• Not older than 35 years
• Have completed Secondary Education or its equivalent.
• Have a good command of English.
• Have a good health (Medical Certificate is required)
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
• Duly filled-in Application form
• Copy of latest academic transcript
• Copy of Passports (valid at least 18 months)
• Latest passport-sized photograph of 4 x 6 cm.
